Oasis Elementary School students set to perform 'Annie Jr.' Feb. 22-24

Students and teachers at Oasis Elementary Charter School are gearing up for their annual concert, scheduled to take place February 22-24.

After months of preparation, nearly 60 third through fifth-grade students will take the stage to perform Annie Jr.

The performance is an abbreviated version of the hit musical Annie and will feature many of the famous songs from the play and will feature a full set with the kids in full costume.

Cape Coral Police announce February 2017 Do The Right Thing winners

On Wednesday, February 15, the Cape Coral Police Department held their monthly 2016-2017 Do The Right Thing Awards ceremony at City Hall.

The department recognized ten Cape Coral students who were nominated for their recent actions that had a positive impact on the community.

The department hosts the ceremony each month during the school year to honor local students for going above and beyond in their everyday life to "do the right thing."

Oasis High's athletic program developing into a contender

Like a growing child, Oasis High School's athletic program is beginning to come into its own.

Started roughly the same time the high school opened in August 2009, the Sharks athletic program began simply. The high school shared a gym with the middle school; soccer was played in the retention pond area in front of the school. In fact, tennis was the only program the new high school was equipped for in those days, "It was definitely a case of humble beginnings," says Oasis High School Athletic Director Brian Montag.

Cape High runner invited to participate in international tournament

Cape Coral High School sophomore, Cheyenne Young has been invited to compete in the Down Under Sports Tournament this summer in Queensland, Australia.

The tournament is a prestigious, international nine-day competition that includes such sports as; wrestling, football, cross country, golf, track and field, basketball and volleyball, and awards both individual and team honors during the event.
