Cape Coral in Pictures: 2012 Cape Cops 5k

Hundreds gathered at the Cape Coral Yacht Club early Saturday morning and joined the Cape Coral Police Department in the Cape Cops 5K.

In its seventh year, the Cape Cops 5K is held every May in conjunction with National Police Week. Each year, the event gives residents a chance to mingle and run with some of Cape Coral’s finest in a competitive, yet casual setting.

Each year the event has grown in popularity with this year’s race seeing close to 350 participate.

At the end of the day, 16 year old Tyler Bennett from Fort Myers was the overall winner with a time of 16:25. This year’s overall female winner was Cape Coral’s Rachel Lee with a time of 18:18.
