Event honoring 68th anniversary of Battle of Iwo Jima this Saturday

An event honoring the 68th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima will be Saturday, February 23.
The event will take place from 11:00am to 12:30pm at the Veterans Memorial pavilion located at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve.
The event is presented by the Marine Corps League Detachment and the City of Cape Coral. The centerpiece of the pavilion is the recently restored Iwo Jima War Memorial Monument, created by renown sculptor Felix De Weldon. The monument has been a fixture in the city since 1964.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring folding chairs as numerous attendees are expected.
