Cape Coral Burrowing Owl Festival 2017
On Saturday, February 25, the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife held their annual Cape Coral Burrowing Owl Festival.
With over 1,000 nesting pair and 2,500 burrows, Cape Coral is home to the largest population of Burrowing Owls in Florida.
Held at Rotary Park, the Burrowing Owl Festival provides a day filled with animals, plants, interactive displays, seminars, and more, all intended to educate those in attendance on all that Cape Coral has to offer in the way of nature.
This year, a record number attended the event strolling through the park, the butterfly house, and even taking tours to the far reaches of Cape Coral to see examples of the City's ecosystem up close and personal.
Saturday marked the fifteenth year the Friends of Wildlife have hosted the event that coincides with the beginning of nesting season for the Burrowing Owl.
