SWFL Military Museum Presidents Room Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Monday, February 20, the Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Presidents Room display.
The display features a visual reenactment of the first face-to-face meeting between President Abraham Lincoln and Ulysess S. Grant shortly after Grant was promoted to lieutenant general of the Union Army. The reenactment is highlighted by Victorian Chairs surrounding the table that were purchased from the White House shortly after Lincoln's assassination.
The Presidents Room also features President John F. Kennedy mannequin sitting on a tiger oak rocking chair that was purchased from the Kennedy family during his 1960 presidential campaign.
