In an effort to help our readers plan their weekend, every Thursday you can find out what is going on in Cape Coral over the next few days with our "5 Things To Do This Weekend".

Whether it's finding events for the family or a night out with friends, here you will find details on a few of the events taking place in Cape Coral over the weekend in a quick and simple format.

Below are five events taking place across Cape Coral this weekend.

Gartenfest at the German American Social Club (Sunday)

If you miss the fun of Oktoberfest, make sure you plan on attending this year’s first of two Gartenfests this Sunday.

With the weather promising to be sunny and warm, the community is invited to mingle in the Bavarian Gardens, the clubs very own backyard, to enjoy good cheer, great music, delicious food and, well, a beer or two. With music featured by the Hafenkapelle from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm, there is sure to be a few good tunes to dance to, as well. And don’t worry, no one will be sending you home after 5:00pm, the party will continue indoors with music by Sepp Diepholder.

You will want to come out for a bratwurst, a schnitzel sandwich or the club’s famous potato pancakes, and enjoy a nice cold Krombacher dark or white, or a Hefeweizen (wheat beer).

Gartenfest takes place this Sunday, February 19 at the German American Social Club, located at 2101 SW Pine Island Road from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Tickets are $3 per person. Children under 12 years of age are admitted free.

For more information, call (239) 283-1400.

Cirque Italia (Thursday-Sunday)

Don't miss your chance to see Cirque Italia as they return to Cape Coral.

Be there to see acrobatic performers from around the globe dazzle the audience with every move above a 35,000-gallon custom water stage.

See a mermaid, dinosaur, trampoline, 360 laserman, high wire, and much more in this animal-free show.

Shows take place February 16-19 under the stunning white and blue big top tent at the northeast corner of Pine Island Road & Andalusia Parkway.

Shows start times are; Thursday and Friday 7:30pm, Saturday 1:30pm, 4:30pm, and 7:30pm, Sunday 2:30pm and 5:30pm.

Tickets start at $10 per person and are available at the event box office or online, or by phone at (941) 704-8572.

Rat Pack Night at Tarpon Point (Thursday)

The Rat Pack transcended the group of all-star friends tearing up the nightclubs of Las Vegas in the early 60’s; it set the standard by which all contemporary and future cool would be judged. Join your fellow “ring-a-ding broads” and “gassers” as Tarpon Point transforms into 1960's Las Vegas for a night of hijinks and entertainment benefiting Cape Coral Animal Shelter.

Mingle with Dean and Frank from 4:00pm to sunset as they “ring-a-ding-ding” the Sunset Bell, then enjoy their performance at The Nauti Mermaid from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Play a special dice game of chance at The Looke, She Sells Shoes, Esterra Spa and Eva by the Sea, then cash in your winning “chips” for gifts and prizes.

Learn the Rat Pack vernacular and receive a special glossary of phrases at Lorne’s Gallery (includes clues for the Trivia Crawl).

Have your photo taken with the “Pack.” Bring your dog in their best “black ties and tails" for a special photo booth.

Enjoy a “gas” of a retro fashion show, featuring styles from She Sells Shoes, Eva by the Sea and The Looke in The Gathering Place.

Watch a retrospective of old Vegas hotels at Gulf Coast Fudge Co. for clues to the Trivia Crawl questions.

Enjoy a tasting menu of Frank and Dino’s favorite Italian dishes at Melograno.

Enter to win a chance for a $1,000 raffle basket. Raffle tickets are $10 per ticket or four for $20. Earn more by playing the free dice/trivia games.

The evening kicks off Thursday, February 16 at 4:00pm at Tarpon Point, located at 5991 Silver King Blvd.

Casino in the Cape (Friday)

This Friday, the Leadership of Cape Coral Class of 2016 will host the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral's annual Casino in the Cape.

Shuffle up and deal and enjoy an evening of Black Jack, Three Card Poker, or test your luck at Craps or the Roulette Wheel.

There will also be an opportunity to take home cold cash in the event's reverse raffle.

While no real money is at stake in this casino, there will be plenty of chances to take home some great prizes.

This year, money raised from the event will go to the Cape Coral Caring Center, Cape Coral Animal Shelter, and  C.A.R.E.S Suicide Prevention.

This year's Casino in the Cape will take place this Friday, February 17 at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Ballroom, located at 5819 Driftwood Parkway. Doors open at 7:00pm.
